Public Hearing - Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision and Land Division Regulations

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Plan Commission and Extraterritorial Zoning Committee of the Village of Prairie du Sac (the “Village”) will hold a joint public hearing on December 4, 2023, commencing at 6:30 p.m. at the Village of Prairie du Sac Village Hall located at 335 Galena Street, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578.  The purpose of the public hearing is to allow all interested parties to be heard concerning proposed amendments to the Village’s Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision and Land Division Regulations as they apply to lands in the Village and its Extraterritorial Zoning and Land Division Review Jurisdiction.

The proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments focus on implementing recommendations from the recently amended Sauk Prairie Comprehensive Plan, particularly related to promoting new housing construction and increasing flexibility in new neighborhood development design.  The amendments include other changes regarding storage of inoperable vehicles and junk and for street tree installation.  The proposed amendments to the Village’s Subdivision and Land Division Regulations also cover street tree installation but also design requirements for new streets, with the general intent of reducing conflicts with utility installation and maintenance. 

Any interested person may review or obtain copies of the proposed amendments at the Village Hall, 335 Galena Street, Prairie du Sac, WI and below.
